As I'm starting to build this thing, I'm slowly making my way into the art style I want Junebug to have. Some things are harder translate from imagination to code, but it can always be done with enough persistence.
My goal is to have two states of each "wave" of enemies that our mountain-man, Junebug, has to endure. Daytime (which you set up your traps / weapons / etc.) and Night (which you just have to survive and protect the property.)

That trick to get objects in front or behind Junebug took waaaay longer than I'd like to admit...
